At Level Studios, I created our internal and executive communications strategy that weaves together people communications, brand vision, HR communications, business priorities, culture and engagement, diversity + inclusion, thought leadership, and crisis communications. In everything, our ultimate goal was transparency, consistency, culture, and building a more engaged, connected, and committed team.
People Communications
Executive Communications
- End of Year Address from the CEO
- Q1 / Year Kickoff Vision and Business Priority from the CEO
- Quarterly Priority Address from the CEO (email, with podcast and videocast appearances)
- Quarterly Update on Business Development and Clients from EVP, Managing Director
- Executive Hire Announcements from the CEO (internal + external)
- Policies, Procedures, and People News from Head of HR
- Crisis Communications from the CEO: Layoffs, Resignation/Termination of Leadership, Reactions to the Political Climate and Urgent News (real world examples: tech and government, police brutality, terrorism, travel ban)
- Global Publicis Groupe Communications: All Hands Presentations, White Paper Contributions (CES, SXSW, Cannes), Newsletters
- Thought Leadership from CEO, Leadership Team, Craft Leads, and other Contributors on business, industry, and other news
I advised the strategy, gathered and authored/edited content, and crafted talking points for each of the communications above. For thought leadership, I interviewed, authored, and edited each piece (occasionally serving as ghostwriter)
- Monthly Town Halls: After-work Q&A sessions, hosted in-person across multiple offices by executive leadership
- Office Hours: Mid-day office hours hosted by executive leadership to increase communication, transparency, and accessibility
- Monthly All Hands: Full-agency All Hands hosted by Executive Leadership and other Leads across multiple offices via phone, webcast, and digital chats (I lead the update on marketing and communications, partnerships, culture and engagement, and professional development opportunities)

- Monthly People and Culture-focused Newsletter

- Engagement and Culture: I managed monthly engagement calendars, events, and budgets across four locations
- Thought Leadership: Encouraging a culture of thought, I've worked with team members to author thought leadership pieces. I interview, edit, and sometimes ghostwrite pieces for others

- People and Culture Video: I produced a people and culture video for talent, business development, culture, and partnerships outreach

- Agency Events: I produced our annual agency kickoff event - bringing together 200+ people across multiple locations, with a budget of 50K
Diversity and Inclusion
I co-created the agency's Diversity and Inclusion Strategy with a member of our recruiting team. The D+I strategy for the agency includes:
Website
Recruiting and Hiring Strategies, Tactics, and Goals
Internal Rollout
External Statement
Marketing Campaigns focused on Equity, Inclusion, and Understanding
Team Trainings and Workshops
Team Council of Volunteers
Quarterly Accountability Check through transparent people data
Community Partnerships to reinforce agency commitment and to engage the team in professional development and mentoring opportunities:
Code2040, General Assembly, #ILookLikeaDeveloper, Blavity's AfroTech, CalPoly Women in Business
Thought Leadership
I created and served as managing editor of our agency thought leadership platform on Medium. We wrote on technology and design, diversity and inclusion, and fast news trends relevant to our industry.
We aimed to publish 2-4* pieces per month, with a strategy built on fast news, events, and industry thought. I interviewed team experts and craft leads, edited contributions, and (ghost)authored many of these pieces. Here are a few that I had a heavy helping hand in:
Creating a Culture of Diversity
Millennials: The Creators and The Consumers
How We Created Our Own Staff Led Brown Bag Sessions
Code Conference: An Inside Look from a CEO
The Corporate Value of Giving Back
The Subliminal Social Messages of Greenery
Will 2017 Bring Us False Promises in Technology
Can the Internet Actually be Green
