The Haus of Hipstamatic

We created culture events (often focused on music) to celebrate a product launch, a new partnership, to inspire creativity, or to celebrate beautiful. From intimate rooftop sessions with the cool kids, to a giant SXSW activation, flash mobs in Dolores Park, and fundraisers to support the arts - I was part of our 2 person team that created and executed each element of every event.

As the head of Marketing and Communications, I oversaw the strategy and execution of all culture, engagement, events, and internal comms initiatives. From hosting our own events, to spotlighting our people, and creating campaigns to keep people inspired and connected, here's just a few of the initiatives I led:

Annual Agency Kick Off Party
All Hands
Town Halls
Office Hours
Staff-Led Brown Bags
Define Kind Service Campaign
Activations at Conferences and Global Events (Cannes, WWDC, SF Design Week, AfroTech, CodeConf, General Assembly, ColorComm)
Portfolio Reviews
6 Weeks of Summer: Weekly Events and Contests and Giveaways
Team Culture and Engagement: PingPong Tournaments, BBQs, PopUp Deliveries, Yoga Sessions, BakeOffs, Holiday Parties +
People Campaigns: The Culture Video, Meet Your Agency Campaign, Spotlighting Passion Projects, Meet the Team Series, Creativity and Design Challenges, Value Awards

Codestarter

We were a startup nonprofit focused on helping underrepresented kids learn to code. I led our launch at SXSW, community fundraising events, and volunteer events with students.

Mexican Fiesta

With over 80,000 attendees each year, this is one of the nation's largest Hispanic festivals. The festival brings together musicians, vendors, arts, food, culture, and community - and is run entirely on the people power of volunteers and scholarship recipients. For three years, I was part of the 4 person team leading the event - from booking talent, to earning corporate sponsorships, coordinating the event schedule, managing thousands of volunteers, pushing national and local press, and even welcoming the President of Mexico onstage to open the event.

The Council for Opportunity in Education

Every year, we hosted two large events - one Annual Conference and another Policy Seminar. These events brought together approximately 1,500 educators, policy-makers, researchers, and corporate partners from across the United States, to discuss the state of education for first-generation and low-income students and how to better advocate on their behalf. We would also host a National TRIO Day for these students across the United States to celebrate their achievements, create service efforts in the community, and tell their story. I led marketing and communications, speakers, and engagement events within each conference (like an Amazing Race in the heart of Times Square).

Events and Partnerships

I often volunteer to help execute, art direct, decorate, host, or publicize events that are being hosted by friends. While I can't take full credit, here are a few images of recent events I've had a (very) small hand in helping with.
